ABOUT US

Founded in Connecticut in 2018 by Genessa Zickefoose, Rooted Teacher is a teacher wellness tribe devoted to empowering teachers to take control of their well-being and prevent stress and burnout using tools and techniques drawn from a variety of traditions and practices such as yoga, mindfulness and meditation. Genessa is a certified public school teacher currently serving as a literacy coach. She has earned master's degrees in Elementary Education and Teacher Leadership. She is also a 200-hr yoga teacher, Urban Priestess and shamanic practitioner.
